Depending on the notice you are providing, cancellation of a reservation may mean a loss of points. This loss is calculated as a percentage of the points used for that reservation.
If notice given is within 395-91 days prior to arrival date.......0% loss of points
If notice given is within 90-61 days prior to arrival date.........25% loss of points
If notice given is within 60-14 days prior to arrival date.........50% loss of points
If notice given is within 13-0 days prior to arrival date...........100% loss of points
If a member cancels a reservation they may not rebook a similar reservation as a late availability reservation or any other discounted points booking.
Points that have been returned as part of a cancellation can be saved for the following year as long as they have not be saved from a prior year and were not borrowed points. Saving points deadlines still apply however.
We would also take this opportunity to highlight the Reservation Protection Plan (RPP) option available. RPP is an exclusive service offered to Diamond Resorts International® points members and provides ultimate protection against loss of points should a member have to cancel a planned vacation. Purchasing RPP at the time of booking will ensure 100% reimbursement of the points used for the reservation should you need to cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival date. You do not need to provide any details as to why you are cancelling your booking nor is this subject to any criteria. RPP can be used in instances where you may be forced to cancel or postpone your vacation, such as for severe weather, illness, jury duty, etc., whatever it may be. Don't take a chance with your next reservation and purchase this at the time of booking for a reduced rate!
